  • Dining room with large table to share a family meal

  • Two beautifully appointed parlors where patients or family members may read, listen to music or watch TV
  • A peaceful and serene chapel, which may be used for meditation or prayer
  • An ample supply of toys and games to entertain visiting children
  • Private bedrooms with private baths furnished with a pullout couch
  • Private porches, adjacent to most patients’ rooms
  • Cable TV with DVD/VCR, clock with radio/CD player and a direct telephone line in each room

Family members and friends are encouraged to visit frequently with no restrictions on visiting hours. Personal pets may even visit, once certain requirements are met.

Our caring and compassionate team of professionals remains close at hand and lends support and knowledge as you walk through these uncertain times.

Tucker Hospice House staff offers professional care 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We believe each patient is special and requires a unique plan of care. Our team of professionals and volunteers join together to manage symptoms, control pain and create an environment for emotional, spiritual, and physical comfort.

This team of professionals, led by the hospice medical director and the patient’s primary care physician, includes:

  • Registered and licensed practical nurses
  • Certified nursing assistants
  • Social workers to discuss emotional and family challenges, as well as grief and loss issues
  • Chaplains to discuss spiritual or religious issues of concern to the patient and/or family
  • Volunteers are a supportive presence to patients and families in ways that include, but are not limited to, reading, socializing and interactive activities
  • Specialized music and pet volunteers visit Tucker Hospice House regularly
  • Bereavement counselors provide grief services to families for 13 months following a patient’s death

Payment Information for Tucker Hospice House

Payment for hospice care may come from the Hospice Medicare Benefit, Hospice Medicaid Benefit, and/or private insurance.

Each person’s financial situation is considered on an individual basis.

Room and board at Tucker Hospice House is not covered by most insurance; however, a sliding fee scale is available for those that qualify.

Admission to Tucker Hospice House is based on need, not on ability to pay
