For more than 100 years, Carolinas Medical Center-Mercy has treated patients with a special combination of human compassion and leading-edge expertise. CMC-Mercy was established in 1906 by the Sisters of Mercy as the first Catholic Hospital in North Carolina. On June 5, 1995, the Sisters sold the not-for-profit to Carolinas HealthCare System.

CMC-Mercy, licensed for 196 beds, provides a full-range of services, from emergency care to surgery to rehabilitation. We serve as the home to some of the area's most advanced specialty services, such as complex orthopedic surgery, bariatric surgery and women’s pelvic health:

  • Foot and Ankle Institute
  • Hip and Knee Center
  • Women’s Center for Pelvic Health
  • Bariatric Center
