CMC-Mercy was established in 1906 by the Sisters of Mercy as the first Catholic Hospital in North Carolina. On June 5, 1995, this not-for-profit adult health tertiary acute care facility was sold by the Sisters to Carolinas HealthCare System. CMC-Mercy is licensed for 196 beds.
As an adult acute care facility, CMC-Mercy provides a full-range of services, from emergency room care to surgery to rehabilitation.
