Biography

“I am a very blessed man. My commitment is to give back daily, and I choose to do that through my work with children and their families. My commitment to children extends beyond my work at Atrium Health.”

Dr. Stegman is board certified in general pediatrics and developmental-behavioral pediatrics.

He specializes in infants at risk for developmental and learning disabilities, extreme prematurity, autism, Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

He is a recipient of the Atrium Health Pinnacle Award.

Dr. Stegman has done mission work in Panama, Costa Rica and Honduras, all related to the health needs of children and their families. He has always had a soft place in his heart for children with disabilities.

He received his medical degree at Indiana University and completed a residency at the National Navy Medical Center.

Outside of work, he enjoys being outdoors, hiking, biking, skiing, exploring, traveling and meeting people all over the world. He has 3 children and 5 grandchildren and doing things with his wife and family is what fills his soul.
