Children who are experiencing a debilitating illness or injury require special in-depth care. Levine Children's Hospital, the area's sole provider of children's inpatient rehabilitative services, partners with Carolinas Rehabilitation in providing the full continuum of care for children.
Dedicated and experienced physicians, nurses, case managers, physical therapists, speech therapists, occupational therapists, cognitive education specialists and social workers are on staff and provide care for children with these unique needs. Our comprehensive and nationally recognized pediatric program allows us to serve every child, from infants born with congenital problems to teens with traumatic injuries.
Our outpatient programs at Carolinas Rehabilitation, CMC-Lincoln, CMC-NorthEast and CMC-Union work with children of all ages who require therapy after discharge from a hospital. The interdisciplinary teams design treatment and community integration programs that facilitate the growth and development of children with physical, cognitive and communication problems. Any child with challenges involving speaking, swallowing, mobility, hand use, academics or behavior can benefit from these programs. Our primary therapeutic goal is to help young children and adolescents lead longer and richer lives at the highest level of functioning possible.
