Patients who have a traumatic brain injury may have difficulty remembering conversations or completing tasks. Clinical neuropsychology offered by Atrium Health’s Carolinas Rehabilitation addresses the relationship between the brain and behavior – seeking to understand each individual patient's difficulties to help guide treatment.

Our psychologists are specially trained to treat patients with neurological, medical, developmental or psychiatric conditions, and can assess a patient’s thinking skills, behavior and emotional functioning.

We provide complete neuropsychological evaluations, including standardized tests (such as putting puzzles together or activities to gauge memory) to assess functioning in the following areas:

  • Attention and concentration
  • Learning and memory
  • Problem-solving and other complex abilities
  • Visual-spatial skills
  • Language
  • Perceptual and motor skills
  • Academic skills
  • Emotional or personality functioning
