Biography

“There is nothing more important than navigating cancer treatment and nothing more complex than radiation therapy. I love making these two things easy to understand for my patients. I do that by using real-life examples and taking the time to explain the importance of radiation, how it works and why we are using it in their case.”

Dr. Thakkar is board certified in radiation oncology. He is fluent in English, Spanish and Gujarati.

He feels radiation is not only an important tool in the curative treatment of cancer but can provide relief from symptoms such as pain.

He received his medical degree at the University of Florida and completed his residency and a fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio.

Dr. Thakkar and his wife have 2 sons. On sunny days, you can find all 4 on the tennis court. He enjoys gardening, walking, riding his bike on the beach and exploring with his family.
