Stephen F. Grinton, MD

Dr. Grinton is board certified in internal, pulmonary and sleep medicine and specializes in sleep apnea, lung cancer and asthma. He serves as the director of respiratory services at Atrium Health Cleveland and Lincolnton.

He has been recognized in Continental’s Who’s Who registry and by TOP doctor.

Dr. Grinton published his research on respiratory muscle changes during exercise in the Journal of Applied Physiology. He chose to specialize in the pulmonary field after witnessing the effects of smoking on his family members.

He received his medical degree at the University of Illinois. He then completed his residency and fellowship at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science, formerly Mayo Graduate School of Medicine.

Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family, including 6 children and 4 grandchildren, and traveling.
