Joanna Peters is a licensed psychologist who holds a doctorate in clinical psychology. She specializes in clinical neuropsychology.
She has clinical interests in the neuropsychological assessment and intervention of pediatric brain tumors, pediatric hematology and oncology (cancer and blood disorders), traumatic brain injury, neurocutaneous conditions and autism spectrum disorder.
Peters is passionate about treating individuals between the ages of 0 and 21, but she has training in the neuropsychological assessment of individuals across their lifespan with a range of medical, developmental and psychological conditions.
She received her doctorate at Yeshiva University with a minor in neuropsychology and completed a fellowship at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Although primarily performing clinical work and minimally involved in research at this time, Peter’s research interests and experience include pediatric neuro-oncology, neurophysiology, cognitive effects of sedation in neuro-oncology and autism spectrum disorder.
Outside of work, she loves spending time with her husband, son and their pets. She enjoys cooking and sharing meals with friends and family. She and her husband love to travel internationally and visit the beaches of their childhoods in the Hamptons and at the New Jersey shore.
