Physician Office

With award-winning physicians providing the highest level of care, Atrium Health Infectious Disease Kenilworth offers infectious diseases and infusion therapy services for patients throughout the Charlotte, NC metro area.

Why See an Infectious Diseases Specialist?

We are a referral-based practice, meaning your primary care doctor or specialist will recommend and refer you to our doctors. Typically, referrals are a result of the following circumstances:

  • An infection is difficult to diagnose
  • A patient does not respond to treatment
  • Treating illnesses becomes a part of a patient's overall care, for example, a patient with HIV/AIDS

In all of these cases, the specialized training of our infectious diseases team can help determine the cause of your infection and the best approach to treatment. There are situations when treatment may involve infusion therapy, which we provide onsite.

Atrium Health Infectious Disease Kenilworth, in Charlotte, NC, provides patients with the highest quality of infectious diseases care available. Our providers work alongside primary care doctors, and with their patients, to determine a personalized treatment plan based on individual needs. This customized plan may include traditional treatment options, as well as innovative research alternatives.

What is Infusion Therapy?

Infusion therapy is the administration of medication through an IV. This type of treatment is called for when an infection is so severe that it will not respond to traditional oral antibiotics or medication.

Infusion Care Outside the Hospital

We provide access to infusion therapy in a convenient and comfortable outpatient setting. This allows patients to be discharged from the hospital earlier or to avoid hospital admission altogether.

We provide the following infusion care in an outpatient setting:

  • IV antibiotic therapy
  • IV immune undulatory therapy
