Victor M. Piñeiro, MD

A practicing pediatric gastroenterologist, Dr. Piñeiro directs the Pediatric Specialties Care Division for gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition for all of Atrium Health, including Levine Children’s Hospital. A retired colonel in the United States Air Force, Dr. Piñeiro has served in senior leadership positions at several military and civilian medical facilities, including chief of the Division of Gastroenterology and Nutrition at Nemours Children's Clinic. Dr. Piñeiro has helped lead more than a dozen funded research projects as well as co-author 80 peer-reviewed articles, abstracts and publications. He currently serves as an adjunct associate professor of pediatrics in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
