Carolinas College of Health Sciences is excited to launch the Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences (BSHS) – Leadership (LEA) concentration, the second concentration option in our BSHS program. The BSHS provides foundational knowledge that is consistent across a number of health professions. Flexibly designed with multiple entry points and now two concentration options, Healthcare Simulation (SIM) and Leadership (LEA), our unique curriculum features a core of interdisciplinary health courses taught in an interprofessional format, which further enhances the skillset of medical professionals in an ever-evolving healthcare industry where care teams often consist of healthcare professionals from different professional backgrounds.

The new BSHS-LEA concentration provides graduates with a foundation in leadership while building upon previous academic and career experiences. It prepares graduates for various leadership roles in a range of healthcare settings such as healthcare administration, medical or pharmaceutical sales, and other health-related services. Designed with multiple entry points and a 100% online asynchronous format, the BSHS-LEA concentration offers flexibility to working professionals in allied healthcare. We meet learners where they are by making education accessible and attainable. Those with an earned associate degree from a regionally accredited college or university can further their education in Health Sciences, creating opportunities for career advancement and/or progressively responsible roles. Learners with some or no transfer credits, who have not yet completed a degree, may complete any remaining general education courses along with the LEA curriculum for the completion of the BSHS-LEA concentration.

The college is relocating to make room for the expansion of hospital services on the Carolinas Medical Center campus. Students will continue to have access to student housing located near the CMC campus, will continue to have parking on the CMC campus in the MMP Deck and will continue to rotate through clinical experiences at CMC and other hospitals in the same way they currently do.

Whether you are just starting your academic journey or want to take the next step toward advancement, the BSHS program has an option for you. We were thrilled to welcome this program's first cohort of students this spring and look forward to working with them as they continue to progress along their academic journeys. It truly is an exciting time at Carolinas College!
