The division of pharmacy services contributes to the overall excellence of Atrium Health in Charlotte, NC, by delivering precise and professional patient care. Our comprehensive structure and extensive reach is evident in the pharmacy services we provide, which include:

  • Inpatient services in 10 area hospitals
  • Community clinic pharmacies to meet the needs of the underserved
  • CMC Rx Pharmacy, a retail pharmacy group with outlets throughout the Charlotte region
  • Carolinas Rehabilitation and other long-term transitional care facilities
  • Enterprise Pharmacy, an entity that purchases medications for hospitals, physician practices and urgent care centers
  • Ambulatory care services throughout the metro region
  • Population management within inter-disciplinary team environments to improve patient care for chronic diseases within the primary care setting

All of these operations are united by a single goal of providing exceptional pharmacy services that are convenient, seamless and exact. Pharmacy residents, through full integration into a variety of practice models at both the institutional and health-system level, are provided with an unparalleled level of training that positions them to excel in the field of pharmacy.

Purpose

Postgraduate year one (PGY1) pharmacy residency programs build on Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) education and outcomes to contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists responsible for medication-related care of patients with a wide range of conditions, eligible for board certification and eligible for postgraduate year two (PGY2) pharmacy residency training.
