Scheduling an appointment
Our physicians and staff strive to make each visit as easy and effective as possible. Our goal is to treat you with compassion, confidentiality and the unique personal attention you deserve. Appointments may be scheduled directly, or through your obstetrician/gynecologist's office, by calling the Women's Institute at 704-355-3149.
What you will need for your first visit
After your first visit is scheduled, you will receive a mailed packet with an introductory letter, questionnaires (for males and females), as well as preconceptual and insurance information. Please return your completed forms to the office before your visit. Send any medical records from your primary physician's office. Be sure to include any office notes, blood test results, ultrasounds, surgery reports and semen analyses. Before your appointment, please call our office to make sure your records have been received. If you have had a hysterosalpingogram (HSG) performed, please make sure we receive the X-rays. Providing this information in advance will ensure that your first appointment goes as smoothly as possible.
What to expect during your first appointment
Please arrive no later than 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment. Your physician will review your medical records and gather a thorough medical history. A physical exam may also be performed.
An initial appointment takes about 45 minutes to an hour. At the conclusion of your appointment, your physician will establish a plan for diagnostic testing and/or treatment. You will have the opportunity to ask questions about your fertility and management plan. Following your initial visit, you will be able to meet with our insurance specialists to help with any financial concerns or insurance authorizations.
