Pediatric and adolescent gynecology is an area of expertise upon which few pediatricians or gynecologists focus. For young girls and teenagers facing unique gynecologic issues, seeing a specialist in this field can make a vital difference to helping these young women and girls feel comfortable. Pediatric/adolescent gynecologists offer not only the knowledge and experience in caring for young women, but also bring a gentle, reassuring demeanor to relate to young patients.

Tara M. Vick, MD, is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist who offers these skills and qualities. She is an active member of the North American Society for Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology, a professional organization of approximately 400 members. The consultative services provided at the Women's Institute within Morehead Medical Plaza are designed to supplement and extend treatment available in pediatric or gynecology offices. Dr. Vick also possesses unique surgical competence to treat anatomic problems.
