Carolinas Diabetes Center is committed to providing high quality, patient-focused care to people living with diabetes.
We care for children and adults with Type 1 diabetes, Type 2 diabetes, and those managing diabetes during pregnancy. Our Certified Diabetes Educators are specially trained nurses and dieticians who work with patients, their families, and their doctors to attain optimal health.
We are dedicated to caring for children and adults living with diabetes, with an emphasis on patient education and the avoidance of complications. Carolinas Diabetes Center brings together the skills of a multi-faceted team of medical professionals to provide individuals with diabetes education, individualized therapies, and continuing resources and support. We take the time to discuss the causes and treatment of diabetes with each patient, while also demonstrating the importance of meal planning, medications, and blood glucose monitoring. We are adept at teaching insulin injection technique, insulin pump therapy, and advanced meal planning, including carbohydrate counting.
Gestational Diabetes: Diabetes in pregnancy is intensively managed via a collaborative effort between the patient, diabetes educator, endocrinologist, nurse practitioner, and obstetrician. For our clients with Gestational Diabetes, a post-partum diabetes prevention class is offered. Our goal is to provide excellent service to exceed each patient's expectations.
