Our birthing center, New Beginnings, has large spacious rooms where mom remains for the length of her stay including labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum. We practice mother-baby couplet care so that your newborn can be cared for at your bedside by the same nurse caring for you. Each room has a baby shaped sink for easier bathing of your baby with a heat lamp overhead to keep baby warm during the bath. For your convenience, each room has a sleeper sofa for dad or other support person and a small refrigerator. Each room has a flat screen TV with DVD and media card reader so you may view all those pictures you took of your newborn! We have a scheduled nap time daily from 2-3 p.m. in order to allow the new family uninterrupted rest time. Visitors are asked to wait in our spacious family waiting room during this time.
We have a designated C-Section operating room directly down the hall from our unit should you need to have a Cesarean birth. In addition to our newborn nursery, we also have a level 2 nursery for babies requiring special care. A pediatric hospitalist is available to manage the care of these babies. We have state of the art HUGGS infant security system to give you peace of mind during your stay.
New Beginnings staff is energetic, caring and competent. Staff members eagerly participate in each unique birth experience. Being part of a small healthcare facility allows us to deliver individualized personal care. Physicians, staff and our expectant families work together to develop and implement a plan of care that meets the needs of each individual family unit.
