The Center for Faculty Excellence (CFE) supports and enhances the expertise and skills of Carolinas HealthCare System faculty in the areas of teaching, research, and leadership.
The CFE serves as a clearinghouse for offerings, resources, and expertise across departments throughout Carolinas HealthCare System. The Center provides resources, continuing education offerings and personal consultations to foster leadership, enhance instructional effectiveness, and improve the academic environment.
Congratulations to General Surgery Trauma resident Dr. Sam Ross! Dr. Ross is the national winner of the Raymond H. Alexander, MD, Resident Paper Competition! Dr. Ross won first place in Clinical Sciences for his work titled “Quantifying the Effect of Crystalloid Resuscitation on Lactate and Base Deficit in a Human Model for Class I Hemorrhage".
Dr. Ross has also been nominated for The American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma National Resident Paper Competition Finals for his work titled “Hemodilution: Fact or Fiction? A Prospective, Randomized Control Trial to Quantify the Effect of Blood Loss and Crystalloid Resuscitation on Hemoglobin.”
