Partnership Agreements

Fair Transfer Promise: A BSN Path for Community College Graduates

Carolinas College of Health Sciences has a partnership with North Carolina community colleges that creates a seamless academic experience for nursing graduates to complete their bachelor’s degree in the most efficient and cost-effective way possible.

The Fair Transfer Promise Agreement is a partnership between Carolinas College and participating nursing programs in the North Carolina Community College System. Nursing graduates who’ve received their Associate of Applied Science (AAS) will receive guaranteed admission into the Carolinas College RN-BSN program, assuming all conditions below are met. Another benefit to students includes the guaranteed transfer of all AAS credits toward their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), meaning they can complete the program in as quickly as possible – potentially in as few as 12 to 18 months. All participants must meet the following conditions:

  1. Applicants must complete a program on or after the effective date of this agreement and must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.25.
  2. Applicants must have earned a grade of “C” or higher in courses outlined in this agreement.
  3. Applicants must hold a current unencumbered license as a registered nurse.

Students must have followed a prescribed five block course list in completing their AAS and must have already completed all required credit hours.

Applicants not meeting the eligibility requirements of the Fair Transfer Promise Agreement may apply directly to the Carolinas College RN-BSN program, and transfer credits will be determined on a course-by-course basis.

Participating community colleges include:

Biology Degree Partnership with Winthrop University

A new partnership between Carolinas College of Health Sciences and Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC, will allow biology students completing their undergraduate studies at Winthrop to also complete a medical laboratory science (MLS) certification at Carolinas College.

The Winthrop biology students spend their first three years taking general, introductory and advanced biology classes. They’ll spend their final year at Carolinas College in order to complete the MLS certification.

“Our partnership with Winthrop is the gateway to educating future medical laboratory scientists a year sooner, with the hope to expand our partnership with other healthcare program offerings, thus, working together for the common cause of fulfilling workforce needs in our regions of upstate South Carolina and the greater Charlotte area in North Carolina,” said Melissa Jackson, program chair of Clinical Laboratory Sciences.
