Medical Education

Curriculum Overview

The Associate of Science in General Studies will be awarded to students who successfully complete 60 semester credit hours of coursework. This program provides students with a basic understanding of the biological sciences and an opportunity to integrate liberal arts with healthcare education. The healthcare programs at Carolinas College have a competitive admission process.

Students who are not accepted upon their first application to the program have the opportunity to take college-level coursework while enrolled in the associate of science general studies program. This enables them to complete courses which would later transfer with a change of track.

Students entering the AS program may modify their course sequence to best prepare them for a particular program in anticipation of a change of track. This program can also help students prepare for transfer into advanced programs at four-year institutions leading to degrees such as pre-medicine or pre-veterinary.
