You Are at Risk of Colon Cancer and Should Have a Colonoscopy:

• If you are between the ages of 45 to 75. Even if you feel healthy, you're still at risk.
• If you have a family history (parent, sibling or child) of colon cancer or precancerous polyps, it's recommended to have a colonoscopy at age 40, or 10 years prior to the age your family member was diagnosed (whichever is earliest).
• If you have Crohn's or Colitis, it is recommended that you have a colonoscopy at least 8 years after you were diagnosed, regardless of your age or how healthy you feel. Follow-up with your provider for recommended interval on colonoscopy screenings.

* Please note: colonoscopies are covered at 100% by many insurance providers, which means there is often no out-of-pocket cost to you or your dependents. However, if a condition is or has been identified through a colonoscopy, or if a related pre-existing condition is present, any testing, diagnosis, analysis, or treatment is not considered a preventative service and is subject to any related copays and deductibles within your plan.
