Glossary of Trauma Terms

A radiologist is a physician who utilizes imaging methodologies to diagnose and manage patients and provide therapeutic options.

Our in-house radiologists are responsible for interpreting our xrays and CT images for the diagnosis or identification of a patient's injuries.

Additionally, interventional radiologists may assist in noninvasive treatment of splenic lacerations or pelvic fractures by controlling hemorrhage through emolization.

Having a radiologist available immediately to interpret scans aids the trauma team in timely interventions.
