Dr. Greene is Chairman of the Department of General Surgery and Director of the Surgical Residency Program at Carolinas HealthCare System’s Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, and Clinical Professor of Surgery at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine.
Dr. Greene is an active clinician in the area of surgical oncology and has been involved in organizational work pertaining to cancer for many years. His publications have included approximately 160 papers, 30 book chapters, and two textbooks relating to cancer surgery and, specifically, the use of laparoscopic surgery in the management of cancer patients. Dr. Greene serves as associate editor of the Annals of Surgical Oncology and editor of the sixth edition of the AJCC Cancer Staging Manual.
