Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) teaches you how to help someone experiencing a mental health problem or crisis, as well as how to connect them with the professional help they need.

During a MHFA course, you will learn:

  • A five-step action plan to identify, understand and respond to an individual experiencing mental illness or substance use disorders
  • Facts about mental illness and substance use disorders
  • How to talk to someone in crisis
  • Information about resources in our community for people dealing with a mental illness or substance use disorders
