Why Choose Carolinas HealthCare?
The Transplant Center at Carolinas Medical Center (CMC), part of Carolinas HealthCare System (CHS), is one of the busiest transplant centers in North Carolina, averaging more than 100 referrals per month.
Our organ-specific teams provide treatment for patients with end-stage kidney, pancreas, liver and heart disease.
This care includes early identification of disease, referral, evaluation, intervention, comprehensive treatment, transplantation and ongoing lifelong follow-up, if indicated.
What sets us apart:
- CMC is ranked among the 50 busiest renal (kidney) transplant centers in the nation
- The Transplant Center is one of six in the U.S. with its own hospital-based organ procurement program, which has resulted in lower waiting times for our patients
- The CMC Liver Transplant program posted the Highest Percentage of First-Year Survival rates (2009) in NC, according to the Scientific Registry of Transplant Recipients
