The Torrence E. Hemby Family, whose commitment to Carolinas Medical Center has spanned more than 50 years, is responsible for the creation of this region's most comprehensive pediatric trauma institute - CMC's Hemby Pediatric Trauma Institute. As a result of gracious funding from the Alex Hemby Foundation, children throughout the Carolinas will benefit from the specialized services provided by the Institute and Carolinas Medical Center.
