OUTREACH AND EDUCATION Community outreach: An imporatnt part of MedCenter Air's mission is to promote education about our field and services in our communities. MedCenter Air staff is available to teach a variety of classes to individuals and organizations in surrounding communities. For more information, please call our Outreach Department at 704-355-3996. Certification classes include: Advanced cardiac life support Pediatric advanced life support Basic trauma life support Pediatric trauma life support Trauma nurse core curriculum Emergency nurse pediatriccourse Neonatal resuscitation program Other classes and topics can be tailored to your department's specific needs. EMS Night Out This is a free educational event that is held in different locations throughout the region. The Backboard Award is presented during the event. Scene Team Presentations "LZ Ops" is a lecture and hands-on educational opportunity on locating and setting up a safe landing zone. It also covers EMS operations around the helicopters as well as identifying appropriate patients for helicopter evacuation. Ride Along Program This program is offfered October through May to healthcare professionals (nurses, physicians, emergency services providers) who are interested in critical care transport. Participants can fly for a shift on one our helicopters with its assigned crew and learn more about how MedCenter Air operates. If you are interested, please complete the Ride Along Packet and mail it to MedCenter Air. Our weight limit is 220 pounds. Pending approval, a program coordinator will be in contact with you to schedule your ride.
