MedCenter Air is a comprehensive medical transport system based at Carolinas Medical Center. When called upon, MedCenter Air takes to the sky and roads whatever the hour, day or night. Our primary purpose is to transport - quickly and safely - patients who require immediate or critical medical care. To carry out that mission, we maintain a growing fleet of vehicles that include fixed-wing aircraft, helicopters and ground ambulances that are custom-equipped to serve as airborne and mobile critical care units. The vehicles and crews are in a constant state of readiness, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. MedCenter Air is available to all medical facilities, EMS services, insurance companies, managed-care organizations and members of the public.
