Behavioral Health Center Kings Mountain Hospital is one of the area's only dually licensed facilities offering treatment programs for both chemical dependency and psychiatric disorders. The center takes an interdisciplinary approach to treatment, combining the expertise of social workers, substance abuse counselors, nurses, psychiatrists, and other counselors to establish accurate assessments and create customized treatment plans. In addition, nurses meet individually with patients to discuss how to take prescribed medications as well as potential side effects and symptoms.
BHC Kings Mountain Hospital focuses on acute crisis intervention and accepts both voluntary and involuntary admissions. Treatment protocols include coping skills groups, stress management training, substance abuse education and occupational therapy.
Our Chemical Dependency Program adheres to the disease concept of alcohol and drug addiction. Additionally, this program uses the 12-step philosophy of recovery.
