Treatment Philosophy
We believe that Chemical Dependency is a treatable medical disease. At Behavioral Health Center CMC-Mercy Horizons, we treat adults age 18 and older who are suffering from alcohol and/or drug addiction. Patients admitted to this level of care will receive a complete medical evaluation and follow a prescribed detoxification regimen directed by a licensed physician.

BHC CMC-Mercy Horizons offers the only hospital-based medical detoxification program in Mecklenburg County. With an 11-bed detoxification unit, we are able to give each patient personalized attention. Additionally, we are a part of a large regional medical facility which means we are able to treat patients who may have a higher level of medical acuity. BHC CMC-Mercy Horizons succeeds because of its well-trained, skilled, seasoned professionals who design and implement treatment plans based on patients' individual medical and clinical needs.

• Emphasize the importance and significance of the 12-step recovery philosophy

Referrals/Admissions
Referrals may be made by self, family members, physicians, friends, employee assistance programs, employers, mental health professionals, managed care organizations, clergy, judicial/legal agencies and any other caring individuals or agencies.
