SMALL RENAL TUMORS
Multidisciplinary Program for the Treatment of Small Renal (Kidney) Tumors. The American Cancer
Society predicts that 38,890 new cases of kidney cancer will be diagnosed in 2006. A general overview of kidney cancer and the available treatment options
can be found at www.cancer.org/docroot/CRI/CRI_2_1x.asp?dt=22.
Chris Teigland, MD directs a team of physicians at Carolinas Medical Center which offers a variety of treatment options for patients with small (less than 4 cm) renal tumors.
In addition to the traditional treatments for renal cell carcinoma, the Carolinas Medical Center Multidisciplinary Program for the Management of Small Renal
Tumors offers patients access to cutting-edge technologies such as laparoscopic and percutaneous cryotherapy, laparoscopic partial nephrectomy, and
percutaneous radiofrequency ablation. Our team of urologists, body radiologists, pathologists and researchers will assess each patient's unique situation to
determine the most appropriate management technique(s) for these small kidney tumors. For more information or to schedule an appointment, please call
