EDUCATION FOR DOCTORS
Continuing Medical Education
Almost a decade ago, The McKay Department of Urology launched a weekly, region-wide urologic education program for physicians and allied healthcare providers. Held at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, the conference is broadcast to these three other urologic communities via their telemedicine sites:
- Cleveland County Medical Center - Shelby, NC
- NorthEast Medical Center - Concord, NC
- Carolias Medical Center-Union - Monroe, NC
The program format varies between a guest speaker, a case conference, discussions of morbidity and mortality, and a journal club. Because of this initiative, urologists throughout the region can keep abreast of the latest developments in urology, ensuring the best care available for their patients. This initiative is the only urologic continuing medical education program in the region, and it reaches a large number of individuals who make a difference every day through their care of people with urologic disease in our region.
