EMERGENCY
Within Carolinas HealthCare System we offer emergency departments at nine area hospitals. Two of these emergency departments offer specialized trauma care:
- The F.H. "Sammy" Ross Trauma Center at Carolinas Medical Center is a Level I (the highest rating possible) Emergency Department in Charlotte, N.C. The Department is a Certified Chest Pain Center and a Primary Certified Stroke Center and all our physicians are board-certified in Emergency Medicine.
- North Carolina's only Level III Trauma Center at Cleveland Regional Medical Center in Shelby, N.C.
By definition, an emergency condition is one that demands immediate medical treatment. If care is
delayed, or the situation is ignored, severe complications or death may result. If you are unsure whether
urgent or emergent care is needed, please exercise caution and go to your nearest Emergency Department.
We provide urgent care services at numerous Carolinas Physicians Network facilities.
