Sanger Heart & Vascular Institute's cardiothoracic surgery division was established more than 50 years ago, and provides the most advanced, specialized level of surgical care in the southeast region.
The highly experienced, exceptionally skilled group of surgeons includes 10 experts in adult cardiothoracic surgery and two experts in surgery for pediatric and congenital heart disease.

Virtually every type of cardiac and thoracic surgery is offered for adults and children and is performed both as elective procedures or emergency surgeries when required. Our team performs conventional open surgeries as well as minimally invasive procedures, depending on which is the best option to treat the patient's condition.
