For fourth-year medical students, CMC's Department of Orthopedic Surgery offers four-week elective orthopedic surgery rotations.

These electives combine practical clinical experience with didactic instruction, including a series of mandatory formal conferences. Students work directly with residents and members of the orthopedic surgery attending staff.

They participate in surgical procedures and treatments in the inpatient and outpatient setting.

Our application process will begin thru VSAS starting March 7 - April 15 2016. Please apply through UNC and select our site. Our blocks are as follows:

  • June 27 - July 22
  • July 25 - Aug 19
  • Aug 22 - Sept 16
  • Sept 19 - Oct 14
  • Oct 17 - Nov 11

From the VSAS main page, click on Search Electives and select from the list of drop down boxes:
