The Pre-Employment Test (PET), also known as FIt for Duty Test or Pre-Work Screen, assists a company in hiring workers who have the physical abilities to perform the job. A functional job analysis is used to create an objective and fair PET, which is validated as an accurate representation of the job duties by the employer and workers.
PET tests the potential worker on the physical components of the essential functions of the job to see if they are capable of performing these functions safely. PET is only one aspect of a complete injury prevention program and will not prevent all injuries.
