Appointment, Billing, and Pharmacy Information

Appointment Information

To make an appointment call the Northside Internal Medicine office at 704-403-7575.

Each new patient will be asked to complete a form before their visit outlining their health history. This will help the doctors make a prompt and accurate assessment during the first visit. Please bring your current insurance cards, including Medicare cards, and any current prescription bottles. Please arrive 20 minutes before your scheduled appointments to complete registration and other paperwork.

Routine or Follow-up Visit

The goal of Northside Internal Medicine is to provide adults with prompt, easy access to quality healthcare. Our doctors see patients by appointment during normal office hours. A triage nurse will discuss your medical needs with you and arrange for an appropriate appointment. Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment. This will give us a chance to update all our records and give staff time to record changes in your medical condition and reason for the visit. Always bring your insurance cards, including Medicare cards, and all prescription bottles.

Prescription Refills

Please contact your pharmacy for your refills. The pharmacy will then contact us to obtain authorization. Please allow 2 business days for your prescription to be refilled at your pharmacy.

Cancellation Policy

Please call at least 24 hours in advance of your scheduled appointment if you need to reschedule. This is a courtesy to our staff and other patients who may need to be seen. We do have a "no show" policy. If you do not provide adequate notification, you may be charged a "no show" fee.

After Hours Calls/Emergencies

If you have a medical emergency, call 9-1-1 immediately or go to the nearest Emergency Department. If you have an urgent medical issue that cannot wait until the office opens, you may call our office to reach our nurse answering service, or find the closest Carolinas HealthCare Urgent Care at www.carolinashealthcareurgentcare.org.

Billing and Insurance

Fees and Insurance

Fees for services (co-payments and deductibles) are due and payable at the time of your visit. For your convenience, we accept cash, checks, Visa and MasterCard. We participate in a variety of insurance plans. Please bring your insurance card (including Medicare or Medicaid) to each visit.

Referrals

At Northside Internal Medicine, we bring together people, technology and compassionate care for a lifetime. Certain health conditions may require the expertise of a specialist or access to other services. If your physician determines the need for a specialist or other services, he/she will make a referral. Our office will schedule an appointment for you and provide you with the appointment date and time as well as the contact information. Because we share health records, your medical information is available to the specialist and the specialist's report will be immediately available to your personal physician. This will ensure you receive the best care available, seamlessly coordinated for your health and safety. If you must reschedule your appointment, please contact the specialist's office directly.

Pharmacy and Lab Test Results

We utilize electronic prescriptions to assure that you receive the best service possible. We will be glad to electronically transmit your prescriptions to one of our CMC Rx pharmacies or the pharmacy of your choice. We encourage you to secure refills at the time of your office visit. If you need to request a refill between visits, contact your pharmacy directly. Prescriptions and refills are only handled during office hours.

Test results may take one to three business days; X-rays and biopsy results normally take up to one week. A clinical assistant will contact you by letter or phone with your results. Because your health is important to us, we will send you reminders by phone, letter or e-mail if you need to come in for preventive care or chronic conditions.

Please allow 48 hours to process refill requests. If this request is received on a Friday, Saturday, Sunday or a holiday it may be processed the following business day.
