NorthEast Inpatient Services Patient Information

During your stay

NorthEast Inpatient Services physicians will direct your health care during your stay in the intensive care unit (ICU) of the hospital. Our team of well-trained board certified physicians are always on staff to care for adults 18 years and older while in the hospital. Please note NorthEast Inpatient Services physicians do not care for critically ill newborns or pediatric patients, who are seen in the neonatal Intensive care unit (NICU) or the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU), respectively.

Visiting Hours

Friends and loved ones may visit a hospitalized patient at any time due to our open door policy. Special care units may have different or limited hours, please refer to CMC-NorthEast visiting hours page.

Going home

NorthEast Critical Care physicians care for your health needs while in the intensive care unit (ICU) at the hospital and release all records to your primary care physician. Once you are home, patients are encouraged to follow up with their primary care physician for any healthcare needs that may arise.

When you are well enough to leave the intensive care unit, you may be sent to a regular care floor or a step down unit. The physicians of NorthEast Inpatient Services will oversee your medical care while on a regular care floor.

Being Discharged

When a hospitalized patient is released from the hospital, either to go home or to another care facility, our CMC-NorthEast case management department is there every step of the way. Registered nurses and clinical social workers can assist patients and their families with any needs they may have, from insurance to home health care and everywhere in between.

Area Services

If special care is needed upon being released from the hospital, our home healthcare department, Healthy@Home, can provide physical, occupational, and speech therapy services either in your home or in several outpatient facilities in our area.

In addition, terminally ill patients and their families may need the extra care and support that Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County can provide. Read more about Hospice Services or contact them at 704-788-9434.
