Epilepsy 
Epilepsy services at Carolinas HealthCare System have helped thousands of individuals -- both pediatric and adult -- take control of their epilepsy. General Neurology
Neurology disorders are conditions that involve the brain, spinal cord and central nervous system. Our experienced teams at Carolinas HealthCare System use a multidisciplinary, highly integrated approach to care for patients with all neurological conditions. Our general neurology specialists offer comprehensive evaluation, treatment, prevention and rehabilitation services in both inpatient and outpatient environments. Our clinicians are recognized and respected for accomplishments in their fields of expertise.

Multiple Sclerosis
For our multiple sclerosis patients, Carolinas HealthCare System offers state-of-the-art resources to provide the most advanced specialized care, along with research and education. Recognized as a leader in the research and treatment of multiple sclerosis, we provide patients with individualized treatment plans formulated to help them sustain greater functionality over the course of their illness.

Neuromuscular/ALS
Carolinas Neuromuscular Disease/ALS-MDA Center, part of Carolinas HealthCare System, is one of the Southeast's most comprehensive programs for the study and treatment of degenerative neuromuscular diseases. Our multidisciplinary approach to patient care integrates all services, enabling us to provide each patient with an individualized care plan, tailored to meet the patient's specific needs. In addition, we offer support from specialists in physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, respiratory therapy, social work, counseling for depression/anxiety, nutritional counseling and exercise therapy.

We also participate in the most current clinical trials, emphasizing research in novel compounds and new methods in treating and evaluating patients.

Parkinson's Disease/Movement Disorders
Carolinas HealthCare System is dedicated to helping patients with movement disorders maximize their independence and quality of life. We offer a comprehensive, team-oriented approach to patient care that includes physicians, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, a social worker, counseling for depression/anxiety, a dietitian and an exercise consultant. We offer a range of services, from early diagnosis and treatment to more advanced therapeutic options such as Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) therapy and botulinum toxin injections for movement disorders and pain. Deep Brain Stimulation therapy is a surgical option primarily for the treatment of Parkinson's Disease, essential tremor and dystonia.

Pediatric Neurology
Carolinas Pediatric Neurology Care offers comprehensive neurological services to children throughout the region by providing highly specialized, convenient care. We provide outpatient care at multiple locations, as well as inpatient care at Jeff Gordon Children's Hospital and Levine Children's Hospital. Our team is committed to delivering family-focused, state-of-the-art care for all neurological conditions and to developing the best plan of care for you and your child.

Stroke
Our stroke programs offer effective protocols for rapid treatment and management of stroke and cerebrovascular disease. We provide a comprehensive, team-oriented approach to patient care that includes physicians, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, a social worker, counseling for depression/anxiety, a dietitian and an exercise consultant. Our multidisciplinary approach to patient care integrates all services, allowing us to provide each individual with a care plan tailored to their specific needs.

Sleep Services
Our team of board-certified sleep physicians and experienced technical staff can effectively diagnose and treat any sleep problem in both children and adults. Our fully-integrated electronic medical record system coordinates your sleep care from the primary care setting all the way through treatment with our durable medical equipment partners.
