Medical Education

Michael Reid completed his undergraduate education at Appalachian State University, where he earned a B.S. in Psychology. Following college graduation, he worked as a full time high school science teacher and was an assistant coach for the varsity boys’ basketball team. In 2008, Michael enrolled in medical school at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine, where he received his doctorate of medicine in 2012. During medical school, he was awarded the Excellence Fund Academic Scholarship. Throughout his education endeavors, Michael has been inducted into several honor societies, including Psi Chi, Phi Kappa Phi, and Alpha Chi. Michael will is a third generation physician, following his grandfather and father.

His hobbies include: fishing, mountain biking, camping, basketball, soccer, weight lifting, playing guitar, reading, and collecting books
