Air and Ground Transport
When lives are on the line, minutes can mean life or death. That's where MedCenter Air makes a difference.
With ground transport, helicopter and fixed wing transport, Carolinas HealthCare System's MedCenter Air offers comprehensive critical care transport services making access to the best care just minutes away from anywhere in our region.
We maintain a growing fleet of vehicles including fixed-wing aircraft, helicopters and ground ambulances. All are custom-equipped and staffed with highly-trained medical and aviation specialists to serve as airborne and mobile critical care units.
MedCenter Air is available to all medical facilities, EMS services, insurance companies, managed-care organizations and members of the public. We meet strict accreditation standards and are accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems (PDF).
News and Events
Join Us on July 11, 2015 - MedCenter Air is excited to announce that Charlotte has been chosen by the MedEvac Foundation International and the Association of Air Medical Services to host a Safety Stop along the Great American Safety Drive! This cross country event exhibits the Metro Aviation 2015 Chevy Camaro and the Air Methods 1969 Pontiac GTO as they trek across the country, stopping along the way to highlight specific medical transport programs, their valued partners in transport, and each program's commitment to safety.
Each Safety Stop is designed to educate its attendees on technology, training, and safety culture. We would like to extend an invitation to our area First Responder agencies to participate by bringing any apparatus they would like to feature in this family friendly event. MedCenter Air will be onsite providing safety education with a visit by one of the helicopters!
The Great American Safety Drive Charlotte Stop will occur on Saturday, July 11th 2015 from 11:00-2:00pm on the grounds of the Charlotte Police and Fire Training Academy, 1770 Shopton Road, Charlotte 28217. Space will be provided for any agencies that would like to showcase their program or apparatus. We ask that you reserve your spot by Wednesday July 8th by an email to Heather Helms at email@example.com.
All family and friends are welcome to attend with hot dog lunch provided by AirMethods Corporation from 12:00-12:30pm.
