Volunteers are valued members of the Levine Cancer Institute patient care team. We offer opportunities in a wide variety of areas including patient services and non-patient care where your volunteer spirit can be of great help.
You can be a healing, high-touch presence at work in a high-tech environment. You can help alleviate the natural fears and apprehensions of the patient and family with your courteous and helpful service. You can help reduce isolation and stress of being hospitalized by delivering mail or flowers to a patient, filling a water pitcher, escorting a family member to the appropriate area, running errands or performing clerical duties for the staff.
You can share your gift in a variety of ways:
- Family Waiting Room Assistant
- Hospitality Cart Server
- Flower Intake and Delivery
- Clerical Assistance
- Patient Care Units
- Special Projects
- Greeters and Escorts
- Pet Visitation
- Teen Ambassadors
The volunteer application process includes:
- Application and interview
- Letters of recommendation
- Criminal background check
- Two TB skin tests
- Documentation of immunizations
