Whether studying, researching, or simply looking for a quiet place to read, the College Information Resource Center provides an excellent atmosphere to support your academic experience.
The IRC is located on the lower level of the main campus building of Carolinas HealthCare System NorthEast, a facility of Carolinas HealthCare System NorthEast. When entering the building through the employee entrance, under the blue awning, take the stairwell to the right of the main hallway to the lower level. There is directional signage along the lower corridor indicating the way to the Information Resource Center.
If entering the Marian Cannon Hayes Center, take the elevator to the basement level and follow the signage.
Cassie Dixon, RN, BSN, MLIS
Ms. Dixon received Bachelor Degrees in Nursing and Anthropology from The University of Tennessee at Knoxville and the degree of Master of Library and Information Studies from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She became a Cabarrus College of Health Sciences Librarian in August of 2014. Her background includes teaching evidence-based nursing classes, developing library liaison and outreach programs, and maintaining electronic resources and serials. She is currently licensed as a registered nurse with experience in perioperative nursing, community health and occupational health nursing. Her background includes teaching anatomy and physiology and critical thinking skills. Cassie enjoys gardening and reading.
Cynthia Kuntzelman, MLIS
Mrs. Kuntzelman earned a Bachelor of Science in History with a minor in Legal Studies from Illinois State University. She earned a Master of Science in Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, ranked as the top LIS program in the country since 1996. She is a North Carolina Certified Public Librarian, and became a Cabarrus College of Health Sciences Librarian in October of 2016. Her background includes significant medical claims experience including LOMA, FLMI and HIAA designations, as well as extensive volunteer experience in K-12 media centers in both Illinois and North Carolina. She currently volunteers as a special collections librarian at the Dolph Overton Aviation Library at the Carolinas Aviation Museum on the grounds of Charlotte Douglas International Airport. Cindy enjoys reading, travelling, and talking to book authors at conventions.

Hours of Operation
The IRC's normal operating hours are Monday-Friday 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. The IRC can be accessed 24/7 your badge.
