Healthy Together
When kids learn healthy behaviors, it sets them on a path to grow into happy, healthy adults. At Healthy Together, we’re working with community partners to help children establish healthy habits that will last a lifetime.
Led by Atrium Health’s Levine Children’s Hospital, the Healthy Together program aims to reduce obesity and chronic disease by creating environments that support healthy choices. And by partnering with schools, healthcare practices, childcare centers, out-of-school programs and workplaces, Healthy Together reaches kids and families where they live, learn, work and play.
The 5-2-1-0 message
Healthy Together promotes following 5-2-1-0, an evidenced-based message endorsed by the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Medical Association.
What does 5-2-1-0 stand for? It’s a simple guide for practicing healthy habits each day.
Eat at least 5 servings of fruits and veggies 
Spend 2 hours or less on recreational screen time 
Get at least 1 hour of physical activity
Drink 0 sugary beverages

Get Involved
In order for kids to build positive habits, they need an environment that empowers them to make healthy choices. With a free toolkit full of resources and personal support from local program leaders, we make it easy to bring Healthy Together (and 5-2-1-0) to your site.

Our impact
While our work is far from done, we’re proud of the difference Healthy Together has made and know it wouldn’t be possible without community support. Together, we’re raising a healthier generation of kids – one child at a time.
2020 Highlights
- 80 sites implemented Healthy Together
- 140,000 children and their families were reached by Healthy Together
- 16 schools earned recognition for their efforts in making positive changes
- More than 9,300 community members participated in 63 events with 5-2-1-0 education
