High school is a time to prepare for your next direction in life and often your next level of learning.
In healthcare there are many positions that are in high demand and require only a high school diploma and / or a certificate. These include:
Several other positions that are in high demand that have additional college degree requirements include:
These positions require a bachelors degree that is heavily science based, as well as schooling after college. Often, the degree programs are highly competitive which means your high school Grade Point Average (GPA), college GPA, and entrance exam scores (for example, the Medical College Admission Test [MCAT] for medical school) will be critical to your admittance into the program.
If any of these positions appeals to you, research the requirements for that certification, school or degree program. You can do this online or by speaking with a career counselor / coordinator at school. The more you learn now, the more you will be prepared for your future.
