Levine Cancer Institute’s multidisciplinary, nationally recognized team of surgeons,  gynecologic oncologists, radiation oncologists, pathologists and other specialists work together to ensure each patient receives the most individualized cancer treatment plan possible, for the best outcome possible. While many of our therapies can now be performed on an outpatient basis, women requiring hospitalization are cared for in a specialized unit located within Carolinas HealthCare System’s Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC.

Treatment for gynecologic cancer depends on your individual cancer and stage. Options include:

  • Minimally invasive, robotic and reconstructive surgery
  • Electrocoagulation (heat) therapy or laser ablation for pre-invasive cancer of the cervix
  • Radiation
  • Chemotherapy or intraperitoneal chemotherapy (injected into the abdomen)
  • Tumor-specific or targeted therapies
  • A combination of various therapies
  • Vaccines

Sometimes conventional cancer treatments aren’t enough, but we know there’s always hope. That’s why we offer the latest clinical trials (link to clinical trials)available, bringing you groundbreaking treatment options not available elsewhere in the area. Levine Cancer Institute participates in research through the National Cancer Institute-sponsored Gynecologic Oncology Group as a primary research site.
