Valdese General Hospital CENTERS

Valdese Hospital (VH) has created the following specialized areas on its campus for the convenience of our patients and their family members.

 More About "Centers"
Cancer Care Center
Patients can receive medical and radiation oncology without leaving the Valdese community.
College Oaks
College Oaks, an independent living facility for senior adults, includes eight two-room suites, a handicapped accessible suite and two single-room living quarters.
College Pines Nursing Center
College Pines Nursing Center a multilevel, long-term care facility providing skilled, intermediate, assisted living care and rehabilitation services.
Emergency Department
Our Emergency Department is located at the front of the hospital, making it easily visible and accessible.
The Family Birth Center
The Family Birth Center special features include six maternity suites decorated to look like home without sacrificing the safety of a modern hospital; around-the-clock registered nurse care; classes on childbirth, child development, newborn care and postpartum care; and home care.
Intensive Care and Critical Care Units
Through VH's open-door policy, patients in the hospital's Intensive Care Unit and Critical Care Unit may have two visitors at a time. If the patient's health allows, visitors may come at any time and stay as long as they desire. Such visiting privileges help fulfill mutual patient and family support needs, as well as foster communication among family members and the hospital staff.
Laboratory
The Laboratory Department's layout and equipment speeds up the process of laboratory work, as well as the convenience of acquiring test results through the computer database.
Neurology
Neurologists treat people with diseases of the brain, spinal cord, nerves and muscles. They see patients with conditions such as stroke, epilepsy and frequent headaches. They also provide help for people with neck and back pain, neuralgia, inflammatory diseases, degenerative disorders and movement disorders. Pain Management Center We help patients reduce pain while increasing their capacity for work, recreation and social relationships.
Radiology
The Radiology Department's advanced technology equipment includes a CT scanner and a nuclear medicine gamma camera. We also provide bone density testing, lithotripsy (removal kidney stones without surgery), mammography, magnetic resonance Imaging, and sonography/ultrasound.
