CAROLINAS REHABILITATION RESIDENTS

Zachary Hauser, MD (PGY-4)
Zach graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill School of Medicine, and completed his internship at Carolinas Medical Center Department of Internal Medicine. His areas of interest include electrodiagnostics, musculoskeletal/sports and interventional pain medicine. In his free time, he enjoys weightlifting, watching movies, reading and traveling with his wife and friends.

 

Heather Havlik, MD (PGY-4)
Heather graduated from the Medical College of Wisconsin and completed her internship at Medical College of Wisconsin Affiliated Hospitals. Areas of interest in PM&R include musculoskeletal, sports medicine and EMG. Heather enjoys equestrian dressage, reading, spending time with her husband and outdoor activities of hiking and camping.

 

Keneshia Kirksey, MD (PGY-4)
Keneshia graduated from the University of South Alabama College of Medicine in Mobile, Alabama, and completed her internship at Medical Center East Family Medicine in Birmingham, Alabama. Her areas of interest in PM&R include general rehabilitation, EMG, and musculoskeletal medicine. Keneshia enjoys gardening, cooking and playing the piano.

 

Kim Encapera, MD (PGY-3)
Kimberly graduated from the University of Louisville School of Medicine, and attended Louisiana State University School of Medicine for her internship. As a result of Hurricane Katrina, Kimberly relocated to Charlotte to complete her internship and residency at Carolinas Rehabilitation. Her areas of interest include prosthetics and adaptive equipment, and stroke. She enjoys cooking, jogging, reading and working with the elderly.

 

Amanda Harrington, MD (PGY-3)
Amanda graduated from University of Miami School of Medicine, Miami, FL - May 2004. Amanda completed her preliminary year in Internal Medicine at University of Maryland Medical Center, Baltimore, MD. Her area of interest in PM&R is Spinal Cord Injury and Sports Medicine. Amanda also enjoys travel, playing sports, and watching college football.

 

Jesse Lieberman, MD (PGY-3)
Jesse graduated from Wake Forest University School of Medicine, Winston Salem, NC - May 2004. Jesse completed his preliminary year in Internal Medicine at East Carolina University School of Medicine, Greenville, NC. His area of interest in PM&R is all inpatient service areas (SCI, TBI, CVA, PEDs). Jesse also enjoys reading, travel, volunteer work; teaching prevention to middle and high school students, hanging out with his wife and five Standard Poodles, and exercise.

 

Andrea Toomer, MD (PGY-3)
Andrea graduated from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans, New Orleans, LA, May 2004. Andrea completed her preliminary year in Internal Medicine at Louisiana State University. Her areas of interest in PM&R are Brain Injury, Spinal Cord Injury, and Electrodiagnosis. Andrea also enjoys shopping, traveling, and making jewelry.

 

David Scott, MD (PGY-2)
Dave is a New Jersey native who graduated from, and completed his internship at, Eastern Virginia Medical School. His areas of interest include nutrition, sports medicine and musculoskeletal medicine. In addition to being a golfer addict, he also enjoys distance running and working out.

 

Susan Swint, MD (PGY-2)
Susan graduated from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine in May of 2005. She completed her preliminary year in Internal Medicine at the University of Louisville. Her areas of interest in PM&R include prosthetics & orthotics, sports medicine and musculoskeletal. She enjoys spending time with friends and family, travel, running and cooking.

 

Katie Weatherhogg, MD (PGY-2)
Katie graduated from University of Minnesota Medical School and completed her internship in Internal Medicine at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH. Areas of interest include Sports Medicine, orthotics and prosthetics. Katie enjoys waterskiing, triathlons, kayaking and yoga.
