APPLICATION PROCESS

Applications for the Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program at Carolinas Medical Center are accepted from participants in the National Residency Matching Program (NRMP). All Applications are taken through Electronic Residency Application System (ERAS). Three letters of recommendation are required in addition to the Dean's letter. Our program does not require any additional information outside of ERAS.

Invitations for interviews are based on review of application materials. Interviews will be scheduled for Monday, December 4, Friday, December 8, and Friday, December 15, 2006. Invitations will be sent via email. The deadline for receiving applications is November 1. Interview days are usually filled before the deadline, so early application is encouraged.

The interview day begins around 7:30 a.m. in the Medical Education Building, 5th floor conference room. Applicants will have one-on-one interviews with the chairman, residency program director and faculty/resident committee. Applicants tour the facilities and will have time to meet with the residents throughout the day and at lunch.
