2-5 p.m. Clinic at Myers Park 1 day a week; varies depending on call cycle

Typically our interns begin the day by discussing the previous night's events with the post-call interns. That allows them to prioritize the morning's pre-rounding, which begins prior to Morning Report.

Unlike many programs, we actually encourage all of the housestaff to attend Morning Report, not just upper level residents. It is also attended by 3rd and 4th year medical students and a large number of the faculty.

After morning report, interns will continue to round, write notes, and discuss daily plans with the upper level residents. Most teams will round formally with the attending every day - this time may include bedside rounds, and always includes separate teaching rounds.

We make it a high priority that all housestaff should attend the daily Noon Conferences unless they have a patient care matter that takes precedence. All of our residents, even our preliminary year interns, have a continuity clinic. It occurs one to two times in the five-day call cycle.
